Every day is a gift given to us by life itself, the reason why it’s called the present. Each day is a fresh start and new opportunity for us to create something better, something different, something great.
The past few weeks, I discovered the importance of understanding the process of how and when we work at our best. May it be for scheduling activities, best time of momentum and productivity or even allocating time for leisure.
Sure, I fail when it comes to the goals I set for the day. It’s difficult to admit that every now and then, I encounter failures. No one forces me to do so though. It’s just that, I have certain expectations on me that I couldn’t meet. It’s a harsh truth that I needed to accept: I can’t keep a promise to myself.
There are days that my body parts have their mind of their own. They will immediately decide that it’s a good idea to feel under the weather and will think of a good excuse to destruct myself from being focused.
Imagine the debate that’s happening inside my mind. To be productive or to sleep: I can’t choose! What else to do but to accept that well, I wasted time, I delayed things out, be kind again to myself and move forward.
To recover from these little failures day by day, I follow the schedule that best works for me. I find myself being productive after lunch so I’m doing things that allow me to think less in the morning. Activities like writing in my journal, reading books and exercise.
I then assign challenging tasks in the afternoon such as creating blog posts, compose emails as part of my funnels, come up with content ideas and actual executions.
While it’s a nice thing to know how I work, there needs to be a balance. I won’t let the day pass without crossing out at least one from my to do list. This is a must for me.
This is the price that we have to pay if we want to achieve our goals. To make sacrifice and conscious decisions on how are we going to spend our time as efficient as possible.
Just reminding the one reading this (note to self also) to Never Give Up! You’re trying, you’re doing things by yourself and it’s okay to falter at times. The path to your dreams is not straight. It’s a zig zag and full of ups and downs. What’s important for now is that you keep an eye on the prize and slowly but surely, going to the direction that you want.
